Quilty Pleasure!

Welcome Dreamers! And future Dreamers!  Please forgive my play on words! It isn't a typo. Today's blog hop is about creating a project that resembles a quilt.  My mind instantly went to the Beautiful Shapes die set. It was introduced to us first in the January-June Mini Catalog and is carried over to the 22-24 Annual Catalog.

When I  think of quilts, I think of the ones my great-grandmother made. I did not get blest with one, but spent many nights snuggled up under one! They were like a hug from the past. The material used to make them were from old clothes or from scraps leftover from sewing an Aunts new school or Sunday dress.  Usually made of calico (small flowers) or feed cloth.

The small prints of the Tea Cup DSP are perfect. I cut 3 sets of 2 colors using the small hexagons as shown. I used a small scrap to cut 2 more pieces for the center of the flowers. Oh! And several Basic White hexagons to fill in the edges.
I used a base of cardstock 5 ½" x 3 ½", which is larger than needed.  Next step is to glue the pieces down, using one edge to keep your design square.  Fill in the white around the edges, as you would a quilt.

Trim edge  even with the point of the quilt block.  Add Stampin' Dimensionals to the back and adhere to  strip of Crushed Curry card stock cut  5 ½"x 3"

Center this onto a card base of Thick Basic White.  I haven't decided on a sentiment for the inside yet, but will finish it when I have someone to give it to!

I know you are going to love the rest of the blog, so hop on over.
