I know, it isn't Sunday. It is Monday, which makes me a day late and a dollar short!
As you may know I am trying to turn my fabulous Stampin' Up! hobby into a business. And I am torn between wanting to share everything to you my readers and others who just want to take my ideas and make it theirs. Oh what a simpler blog world it used to be. If someone shared your work, they also shared that it was indeed yours!
I follow several SU demonstrators and love how their blogs are full of such wonderful designs. And they say, buy the PDF for this card here. I don't think I want that, but I do want to make money. At least a little bit of money. What to do? It is a dilemma that has forced me into inaction. I am so confused that I am doing nothing at all!
So the reality is this....I love to stamp and create. LOVE IT!!! So I am going to do just that. Create beautiful cards and get back into layout making. And share the heck out of them. I am going to share them on this blog and on my Facebook page. And on my Pinterest. The same post all connected together, even though the social media experts say, 'you need to have totally different posts on each platform'. Yep I have read their thoughts and the just add to my inaction! Get out of my Head!!!

So, back to "Simple Sunday". Being "isolated" in my home has not been much different than life before Covid-19 came to the world. Yes, I don't get to hold crops or go out to eat whenever I wish. But Zoom and Venmo has kept me in touch with my SU family and with my church.
As long as I can remember the Sabbath was set aside for church and family. In summer it meant a small worship lakeside before packing up to return home from a weekend at the lake. But fall and winter were stay at home time in western Oklahoma After services, we would come home to lunch of pot roast, carrots, and potatoes that mom had put in the oven before we left. A feast that led to being so full that naps were in order! Reading, playing cards, or playing guitars and piano with Dad. The quietness stilled our lives and centered us around family. which has always been important to my family.
So I thought this would be the perfect theme ...Simple Sundays. My plan is to show simple, easy to complete cards. Simple, not plain!
My first card was made using very little stamping. I used a set of the Memories & More Card pack. These packs go with the Photo Pocket Pages to make memory keeping easy. 50 double sided cards in them and 4 sticker sheets. Just add a card base and you have a quick easy card for a forgotten birthday. The Flowers for Every Season pack is just that. It has cards for the 4 seasons. So pretty and vibrant!
I chose one with sunflowers and daisies, sure to bring a smile to the receiver of my card. Here is my recipe for simple...
- Card Base Whisper White Thick cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" that I scored at 4 1/4"
- Magenta Madness 3 1/8" x 4 1/8"
- Just Jade 4'x 5 1/4"
- Whisper White 2" x 3 1/4"
Beginning with the Memory Card, layer unto the Magenta Madness using the Multipurpose Glue, because it holds tight in our Oklahoma humidity! Adhere that stack to the Just Jade cardstock and then glue the entire piece centered on the card base.
I stamped my saying on the small whisper white piece and stamped it with a saying from Butterfly Gala set. There are actually 3 stamps that would fit in the the Tailored Tag Punch. So punch it out, centering your saying. I popped it up with a few dimensionals to add a bit of texture.
And we are done! A beautiful card (if it is okay for me to say that?) that only took about 15 minutes to make. Simple, pretty....done! I encourage you to pop over to my
