Hello, Handsome...it's a not so simple Monday!

I have decided to showcase some of my new favorite stamp sets from the Annual Catalog. I think this one is a "sleeper".  It is Pallet Thoughts, and while at first glance it seems like a manly set, it can be just as easily girly!  Here is the card I made on my Hello Handsome, Simple Sunday Live yesterday.

My dimensions were:

Card Base - Basic Grey 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored at 4 1/4"

Mat- Crumb Cake  5 1/4" x 4"

Inside Mat:  Very Vanilla   5 1/4" x 4"

Scraps of Very Vanilla and Night of Navy (sentiments)

So now, let me show you how to step this up from a beginner to a casual stamper's card. My casual gals have a bit more supplies than just the basics. This is by no means a difficult card, just more steps. Using the same products..with two exceptions.

On the base I scored, on the long side, at 1 1/2" and again at 4 1/4". I scored both, one mountain and one valley fold. With my pallet stamp in my Stamparatus, I stamped the outside of the 2" fold with Gray Granite. I had to cover the inside of my card with thin paper to protect it from the ink. I stamped once, moved the plates down 2 hinges and stamped again.  I moved it again 2 hinges and stamped the third time. I opened the flap and did the same with the outer front piece. My lines were straight and met up! Just the way we want them. Finally I glued the 1 1/2" flap to the front.

I cut a piece of Early Espresso (Basic Black would also work) 4"x 5 1/4" for the inside mat. I wanted to dark to show as shadow behind the "shiplap". With a couple of scraps of Crumb Cake and Soft Suede, I stamped the pallet once again with the Grey Granite ink pad. Then I cut them into strips with my trimmer. After gluing them in a floor like pattern, I trimmed them to the size of the mat. An addition of sentiment on the front and inside left only the Faux Suede Trim and Antiqued Slide to finish it up!

I hope you enjoyed my card today. Remember, all the underlined products will take you directly to my website to shop! I would love to be your demonstrator, if you do not already have one.
