Back to Stampin'!

Who knew that a holiday week was an excuse to take 2 week off of stamping?  I guess, deep down, I did!  I certainly did it. And at the worse time for my business...at the kickoff of a brand new catalog! And what a thing of beauty it is! I am about to put in my 2nd order and am afraid of the size of it!! I want to focus on one of my favorite new sets today called "Hey Girlfriend".

I love that it is on trend with the other companies stamp sets featuring girls. And these girls have the sweetest faces!

Last night was our monthly team meeting with my upline JoAnna. She has really done a great job of keeping us inspired and up to date with changes occurring within the company during this pandemic. For last night, she had asked us all to make a  card using the "Rip & Flip" technique. It isn't as much a technique as it it a style of card.
Basically, you cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) that will be your bottom layer of your card. Decide what size you wish the layer to be and then RIP it. In half or rip 1/4 off it off..whatever you wish.
Then you flip one piece over. Kind of a lame move to get this card it's own name!!

I decided to use a piece of DSP from Paper Blooms which is a Sale-a-bration  reward and coordinate with Pretty Perennials in the new Mini Catalog. (click on the  highlighted words to go directly to my store!)
Rip     &    Flip

I discovered that care needed to be used when choosing your DSP, because not all pieces coordinate front to back. And this may have been one of them! But I loved the quirkiness of them together.  I adhered them to a card base of Rococo Rose . Next I stamped my little girlfriend on Whisper White cardstock and painted her. I used Stampin' Blends in Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight and Ivory. I don't have a Rococo Rose blend yet, so I used my Aqua Painter and my ink pad and water painted it on her skirt and bow. Don't forget her cute lips!
Then I cut her out with Layering Ovals !  It was a quick card to do and I think she turned out really cute. Perfect for my little granddaughter, Evelyn who has her own sense of Style!

Thanks for stopping to read this. I know there are lots of us working hard on the internet to keep you all entertained and using your stamps. Hope you enjoyed it!
