Answering a Color Challenge with Just Cardstock!

Good Morning Dreamers! And  welcome guests. It has been a long crazy month since I last blogged, but I am getting back into the swing! Each month, my upline gives is a challenge, to encourage us to get into our crafty space. This month it is a color challenge and I love a challenge. The colors to be used are Crumb Cake, Bumble Bee, Old Olive, and Bermuda Bay. I admit that I was skeptical! But I love how they have turned out I made one for my live on the Dreamer's Coffee & Card yesterday. You can check it out here
I decided to make a second card with the same color combo for today's hop . I have joined my friends at Crafty Collaborations to bring a fun hop. We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who have joined together to bring you inspiration using our products! I really loved today's challenge to make a project using our great cardstock as the main focus! I think I did that!

  • Crumb Cake base       8 1/2" x 5 1/2" scored at 4 1/4";  4 3/4' x 4",  1" x 6"
  • Bumble Bee    3 3/4" x 5 1/4'
  • Old Olive, Bumble Bee, Bermuda Bay          1/2" x 6"
  • Bermuda Bay    3" x 2 1/2"
  • Basic White    2 1/2" x 4" (or size to fit your label die)
Tools:
  • Scallop Die from Peony Dies (or any scallop die in your stash!)
  • Seasonal Label Dies
  • Love You More Than Dies
Fold your card base on score line and burnish with your Stampin' Up! Bone Folder.

Using the Scallop Die, cut the bottom edge of the 4 3/4" x 4 inch piece. this was my base for the scallops. It isn't seen except for this small strip, so it could be any of the 3 colors.

Then cut out several scallops using the 1" x 6" pieces. Using Multi-Purpose glue, adhere strips to  the base above. (I used my grid paper to help keep my lines straight!) I finished off the top with a Crumb Cake strip, to match the bottom.  Trim the edges as needed.

Glue the scalloped piece to the Bumble Bee mat and glue to card front.

Any sentiment would work on this card. I chose "Love You More" because my granddaughter and I always "argue" over who loves the other most. She will love to get this reminder in the mail! Grandma needs the last word! HaHaHa

I hope you enjoyed my card today.  I had a great time making it. Be sure to hop on to the next blog to grab even more inspiration!

I'm Dreamin' of more color combos...You keep Dreamin' too!
